Director of Outreach
Parul Suri is the NAGPS Director of Outreach for 2021. Before being elected to the current role, she served as the Assistant Director of Outreach at NAGPS during 2020. Originally from India, Parul graduated with a Masters in Biological Sciences from St. John’s University in NY. While pursuing her degree, she worked as a team lead for graduate admissions and recruited students for the graduate school. Before starting her PhD program, she worked at Zoetis as a Scientist for a few years in Michigan. Currently, she is a PhD student in Veterinary Science at University of Kentucky (UK) and specializing in Molecular Parasitology. Her research focuses on pathogenesis of a parasite that causes EPM (a neurological disorder) in horses. She has been serving as Veterinary Science department representative and Co-Chair of Professional Development and Networking committee of Graduate Student Congress at UK. Outside of work, Parul enjoys exploring restaurants and watching movies, shows, reading non-fiction books, playing tennis, hanging out with family and friends. She loves to meet new people to gain new perspectives! Being a strong advocate for the success of graduate and professional students throughout her career, Parul’s goal for 2021 is to enhance the recruitment, retention initiatives and increase membership engagement.
