Director of International Student Concerns
Meindert Montenegro is a Fulbright scholar who is passionate about special education /disabilities and teacher training internationally. In Nicaragua, he has collaborated with various institutions of higher education as a director, coordinator and professor such as UCA University, UAM, UNAN and has also taught social studies and philosophy at different high schools. In the teacher training field, he has presented in several international TESOL congresses in Panama, Venezuela, Honduras, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and he has also been part of international webinars such as EFL talks. He is currently taking a master’s in teaching and Curriculum design specializing on special education and disability. He holds a bachelor degree in TEFL, a graduate degree in Content-Based Instruction and has taken two international certification programs, one of them at Hunter College and the second one with SIT TESOL at Centro Espiral Mana, Costa Rica. Additionally, he has been in charge of two MOOC camps about Content- Based Instruction and about Teaching Grammar Communicatively.
