Neleen_Leslie (2)Neleen Leslie is a second year doctoral student studying Mass Communication at The Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Her research focuses on Multicultural Marketing Communication, Branding, Advertising and Intercultural Communication.

She is a native of the island of Jamaica where she lived, studied and worked prior to coming to the United States. She attended the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in International Business. Neleen also did a stint in the Jamaican marketing industry as Brand Manager at one of the country’s largest distributors.

After being awarded a Fulbright scholarship in July of 2010, Neleen moved to Tallahassee to pursue a MSc. in Integrated Marketing Communication. She graduated from the Master’s program in December of 2011 and enrolled in the PhD program in the spring of 2012.

In addition to her work with NAGPS, Neleen is very involved on her home campus. She is currently serving her second term as president of the Black Graduate Student Association and is also Deputy Speaker for Communication in the Congress of Graduate Students. She also participates in FSU’s Center for Global Engagement’s Global Ambassadors program.
