Join Us for Fall Legislative Action Days: Defending and Enhancing Education and Research Funding

Your graduate career wouldn’t be the same without the education and research funding you receive. A significant portion of graduate student funding comes from federal sources such as the Department of Education (DOE), The National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Federal Student Loan Programs. Now more than ever this funding is threatened by budget cuts and our Congressional Representatives need to hear from students like you to understand why education and science funding is critical to our nation. We have a unique opportunity to share our perspectives leading up to the renewal of the Higher Education Act, a once per five year bill, that deals with all federal financial aid.

Join us in Washington D.C. for our bi-annual Legislative Action Days to speak directly with Congress and their staff about your research, why education and research funding is necessary and how its benefiting your school, community and state. As a participant, you will receive training in education, student loan, and research funding policy issues. You will also develop effective lobbying skills and hear from experts in the field about the latest issues facing graduate and professional education in America.
