Director of Outreach
Michael “Vinnie” Amato is the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) Director of Outreach for 2020, an officer of the Executive Committee. As part of this role, Vinnie oversees member recruitment and retention initiatives- since each individual member is truly what makes NAGPS function! Vinnie also chairs the Outreach Board and Outreach Committee, and is eager to work with graduate students from all five regions through these groups. At Arizona State University (ASU), Vinnie is a first-year law student at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Originally from Rochester, Massachusetts, Vinnie has trekked-out to Arizona to be part of ASU Law’s Indian Legal Program with the overall goal of specializing in Federal Indian Law. Vinnie is also an Assembly Member representing the law school within ASU’s Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GPSA), where he serves on the Assembly Operations and Downtown Campus committees. Prior to attending law school, Vinnie graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University with a triple major in Political Science, History, and Linguistics. When Vinnie is not studying or doing NAGPS business, he enjoys watching (and singing) musicals, hanging out with his family, especially his two younger sisters Haley and Gabby, and any Disney-related activity. Vinnie is excited to help take NAGPS to infinity and beyond over the course of the next year.
