2015 NAGPS National and Regional Member of the Year Awards

The purpose of Regional and National Member of the Year Awards are to recognize excellence and noble service being done by fellow graduate-professional student leaders and their organizations at NAGPS member schools.  By highlighting and recognizing these efforts, we hope to enrich the broader graduate-professional student community with new ideas and renewed appreciation for the hard work and dedicated service of our peers.

Please find included in this guide, the NAGPS National and Regional Awards of Excellence information, the Scoring Rubric, and Application. Applicants in each region should complete the attached application, which will be evaluated using the attached rubric. Each organization will be assessed a final score between 0 and 100 (scoring components are listed below).

NAGPS is composed of five (5) regions: Midwest, Northeast, Southcentral, Southeast, and Western. The Regional Member of the Year is the organization with the highest raw score from each region; these five will then compete to become the National Member of the Year. Each Regional Member of the Year Award recipient must be in attendance at the national conference to compete for NAGPS National Member of the Year. All award recipients must be current members of NAGPS.

The same application will qualify organizations for the new “Emerging Member of the Year” award. This will be awarded to a NAGPS member organization that has been with NAGPS for between one and five years, has a likely budget under $50,000, and shows great initiative within their campus community and NAGPS.

The application process consists of six steps, culminating in the national conference awards ceremony where the National Member of the Year will be announced.
