Graduate and professional education has never been more important for our nation and yet it faces so many challenges. The time to tell our story is now. Congress will not act on these issues until we make our voices heard in Washington. Your story is powerful and collectively we can have an impact. Join us for our Legislative Action Days!
The Advocacy Summit is designed to prepare attendees for their meetings with their representatives on Capitol Hill. The two days of the Advocacy Summit will include informational sessions on policy issues, and best practices for conducting meetings with policymakers on issues in higher education policy. Issues currently on the radar of the NAGPS and its membership include research funding, graduate student interest rates, deterring sexual assault and gender crimes on college campuses, international student visa concerns, and open access. On Monday and Tuesday we will go to Capitol Hill, meeting our representatives, advocating for graduate and professional education.
