Jaqueline Gamboa | South Central Regional Chair
Jacqueline Gamboa Varela is a 4th year PhD student in Chemistry at the University of Missouri. Her research is focused in studying DNA damage more specifically DNA interstrand cross-links. She obtained her Bachelor’s in chemistry from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Jacqueline is excited to be serving for the first time as the regional chair for the Southcentral region. She is looking forward to connecting with the current member universities and bring to the front the issues currently affecting graduate and professional students in the region.
Prior to serving as the regional chair for the region, Jacqueline served in the Alumni Board for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She has served in various organizations on campus and is a big advocate for science outreach; she is the host and producer of a science radio show, The Big Electron.[feature color=”icon-black” title=”Email” icon=”ico-envelope” ]firstname.lastname@example.org[/feature]
